Hugo (ex Naughty Zombies) is part of Los Caniceros del Morte, reviewed below, but begins his debut EP with a mixture of an electronic beat, imaginatively punishing drums and scathing guitar washes and shards which is like a modern day equivalent of the moods UK Decay once evoked. This is clearly the other side of his interests, which becomes the more intriguing the more you hear. That’s ‘Inner Fears’ first, with some deliciously abrasive, pummelling agitation, followed by nonchalant vocals (Txarly Usher from Casa Usher/Carniceros del Norte) in a ‘Viejos Tiempos’ that mixes icy guitar shivers with gusts of sun-baked espionage noir which could have stepped straight out a Bond movie, assuming Tarantino was directing. Excitably grand.

With Toño (The Rockin’ Pneumonias) on guitar ‘Zombie Stomp’ is a tempestuous b-movie rock and roll instrumental (bar some shrieking), poised and slinky, and the motif flowing slowly through ‘From Heaven To Hell’ is just as beautiful, but shorter and intentionally disrupted.

The scope exhibited on this record is pretty amazing. One central figure, pull in cohorts who fit his ambitious ideas across various styles, and making each successful and distinctively different. Brilliant.

New wave of Gothic Rock at it's finest. This band has top level talent from well renowned acts involved so wasn't the least bit surprised upon hearing the opening track. If you miss late 80's to mid 90's gothic rock bands, I can't recommend this one enough. m4rkos1334
